🔒 We take your privacy seriously. We do not sell your personal information. We do not show you ads. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and how you can control it.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information: Name, email, phone number, and password (hashed — never stored in plaintext).
Identity and Verification: For Technicians: government ID, contractor license, insurance certificates, and background check data via Checkr. This data is used solely for verification purposes.
Payment Information: We do not store card numbers. All payment data is tokenized and stored by Stripe. We store only Stripe Customer IDs and PaymentIntent IDs for transaction tracking.
Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, and session data. Used to improve the platform. Never sold to advertisers.
Location Data: ZIP code and service address. Used to match consumers with local technicians.
Communications: Messages between consumers and technicians are stored to resolve disputes and provide customer support.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the SVCDispatch marketplace
- To verify Technician qualifications and protect consumers
- To process payments and manage escrow via Stripe
- To resolve disputes through our mediator team
- To send transactional emails and SMS notifications (job confirmations, estimate alerts, payment receipts)
- To detect and prevent fraud and abuse
- To comply with legal obligations and financial regulations (7-year transaction record retention)
3. Data Sharing
We share data only with:
- Stripe — Payment processing and escrow management
- Checkr — Background checks for Technicians (Technician data only)
- Twilio — SMS notifications
- Amazon Web Services — Cloud hosting and document storage
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Update incorrect information via Account Settings
- Deletion: Request account deletion (subject to 7-year financial record retention requirements)
- Export: Download your data as CSV from Account Settings → Export My Data
- Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time (transactional emails cannot be disabled)
5. Data Retention
Active account data is retained while your account is open. Financial transaction records are retained for 7 years to comply with applicable financial regulations. Background check data is retained per Checkr's data retention policy and deleted upon Technician account closure.
6. Security
We use industry-standard security practices including: TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest for sensitive fields, SHA-256 hashing for passwords, and regular security audits. In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users within 72 hours as required by applicable law.
7. Cookies
We use session cookies for authentication and functional cookies to remember your preferences. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some platform features may not function correctly.
8. Text Messages (SMS)
If you verify your mobile number and turn on SMS alerts, SVCDispatch sends you text messages about your account and your jobs: verification codes, appointment confirmations, estimates, completion and payment notices, and dispute updates. Message frequency varies with your activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help; you can also turn SMS alerts off in Account Settings at any time. We do not sell or share your mobile number or your SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
