Frequently Asked Questions
How does escrow work? ›
When you approve a repair estimate, your payment is collected by Stripe and held in a secure escrow account. The money never goes directly to the technician — it stays held until you confirm the work was completed to your satisfaction. If you're not happy, you can file a dispute within 48 hours and our mediators will review the case.
What happens if I don't confirm or dispute within 48 hours? ›
If no action is taken within 48 hours after a technician marks the job complete, the funds are automatically released to the technician. You'll receive email and SMS reminders before this happens. We recommend confirming as soon as you've verified the work.
How do I file a dispute? ›
Go to your Job Detail page and click "File a Dispute" before the 48-hour confirmation window closes. Upload any evidence you have (photos, videos, messages) and describe the issue. Our mediators aim to review and rule within 5 business days.
How do I become a verified technician? ›
Click "Join as a Pro" and complete the 5-step onboarding process. You'll need to upload a government ID, contractor license, certificate of insurance, and pass a Checkr background check. Our team reviews applications within 1 business day.
When do technicians receive their payouts? ›
After a consumer confirms work completion, payment is released and transferred to the technician's Stripe Connect account. Funds typically arrive within 1–2 business days depending on the technician's bank.
What is the platform fee? ›
SVCDispatch charges a 10% platform fee on each completed job, deducted from the technician's payout. Consumers are never charged a platform fee — the price shown in the estimate is the price they pay.
